Privacy Policy

Last updated July 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Flok collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Flok is built around a simple idea: your friends only ever see whether you are free or busy, never why.

Information We Collect

Phone number: used to create your account and sign you in with a one-time code.

Profile details: your display name, username, and (optionally) a profile photo.

Availability: the dates and times of day you mark as busy or tentative. We never ask for or store the reason a day is blocked.

Connections: the floks you belong to and the friends you add.

Basic technical data needed to operate the app, such as your device push token if you enable notifications.

How We Use Your Information

To create and secure your account and log you in.

To provide the core service: finding the dates and weekends that work for your floks.

To show your free/busy status to the members of floks you join.

To send you in-app and (if enabled) push notifications about invites, floks, and better dates.

What Other People Can See

Members of your floks can see your name, username, photo, and whether you are free, tentative, or busy on a given day or time of day.

They never see why you are busy, your event details, or any calendar outside of Flok. Your reasons stay private to you.

Text Messages

We verify your phone number by sending a one-time code over SMS through a third-party messaging provider. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.

How Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored using Supabase, our backend and database provider, and is protected by access controls so that people can only read the data they are permitted to see.

We use reasonable technical measures to protect your information, though no method of storage or transmission is ever completely secure.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We share data only with the service providers that make Flok work (our backend host and our SMS provider), and only as needed to run the app, or when required by law.

Keeping And Deleting Your Data

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, availability, floks you created, and related data.

Children

Flok is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
